“I’m based in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire but cover the surrounding counties of Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire too. If you choose to get in contact, pop your wedding venue location on the enquiry form and I’ll be able to check that I can get to you!”
“Your Hair and Makeup trial can be booked as soon as you like, some brides choose to have a trial as soon as they have enquired but most choose to have theirs 2-3 months before the wedding date as our hair and skin can change so much throughout the year. This is around the time you’ll be thinking about colour services and skin treatments in the run up to your day and a similar time to your dress fittings.”
“Not at all. Although your bridesmaids are more than welcome to have a trial, it’s generally just the Bride who gets this special treat! If somebody is particularly nervous about having their hair and makeup done on the day then let me know and we can work through any concerns.”
“A Bridal trial is really relaxed and should be great fun! It normally takes around 3-3.5 hours for both hair and makeup and during this time you are welcome to try multiple hair styles and makeup looks just to ensure you are completely happy with your selection. Trials take place Monday-Friday only, weekends are understandably reserved for weddings so that you have my full time, attention…and energy!
The trial takes place at my comfortable home studio space that has good natural light, professional mirror and lighting setup, seat with adjustable height and a sofa area so that you can still bring Mum’s or Bridesmaids for those all important second opinions on your Wedding Hair and Makeup!”
“I’m not associated with any makeup brands so all products used and advice given is completely impartial. I have a range of brands in my kit including MAC, Bobbi Brown, Illamasqua, Benefit, Urban Decay, Anastasia Beverley Hills, and Smashbox . The products I use are high quality and one that I genuinely used myself on my Wedding day; I trust them implicitly and they really do last all day. It’s always worth purchasing the lip colour used at the trial or one of a similar tone. Whilst a good quality lip colour will last for the ceremony and photos, as soon as eating and drinking starts it will begin to wear a little.”
“Many of the professional products used today have been developed so that they are suitable for all skin types but if you’ve experienced any problems before; it’s important we find something that is comfortable for you and still looks amazing. If you have any favourite products and want to incorporate it into your look, we can discuss this at the trial”
“Yes absolutely, all skin tones, skin types and ages!”
“The earlier the ceremony the earlier the start time. I like to have everyone ready 1 hour before the ceremony to ensure there is no rushing around with plenty of time for all to get dressed, time with the photographer and to grab a much needed glass of Champagne! I ask for 2 hours for bridal hair and makeup and approximately 1-1.5 hours for other guests. I’m very used to starting as early as required on a wedding morning but for the bride, it’s important to remember it’s going to be a very long day and that starting at 6am isn’t always the best idea!

“No, it’s your wedding day and you don’t have to do anything you don’t want to! However, there are things to consider like whether your makeup contains high levels of SPF or titanium dioxide as these won’t work for a wedding photographer who uses flash as it can cause problems in the photo’s. If you really want to use your own product we can look at ways of incorporating them into your look but it’s not always recommended.”
“Yes, I offer makeup lessons for both everyday wear and bridal. Much like a trial, we will arrange a time prior to your wedding date to run through all the techniques, essential products and tricks you require to feel confident on the day doing your own makeup.”
“I have never missed a wedding, for a wedding supplier it isn’t a decision that would ever be taken lightly. In the very very unlikely event, I would endeavour to find an alternative reputable stylist, artist or salon to cater for your requirements.”
“Your date is secured with a £70 desposit. Simply and fairly, a deposit is used to secure your wedding date and safeguards for loss of earnings should you choose to cancel your booking. Once a deposit has been received, you will receive a signed booking form. ”
“Forget about the “shoulds!” There are a lot of things a bride may feel like they “should” do on their wedding day but it’s important to be happy. Your wedding day is about you and your partner celebrating your love together, not about impressing friends and family who are ultimately there to support you. If a bride never wears her hair up but feels that she “should” for the wedding day or never wears red lipstick but “should” try something new, I often ask if this is the best time to push the comfort zone.”
